Jebel Akhbar, also known as "Green Mountain"
Steep roads after the military check point. Jebel Akhdar was a military zone and only 4X4 wheeled cars of max 6 persons are allowed to go up the mountain. The mountains are 2000+m above sea level and the drive was really scenic. As we drove up, the temperature dropped by at least 10 degrees celcius.
Wild donkeys enjoying the unusually green mountains as there had been more rainfalls in recent weeks.
Our first stop at Wadi Bani Habib, a village still inhabited by Omanis
A local lady carrying dried plants
However, just across the Wadi Bani Habib village, we saw a deserted village
Next stop is Al Ayn, really interesting village with centuries of terraced agriculture of all sorts of fruit trees and vegetables.
View of Al Ayn from the Al Fayyahdhiyah
Inside the village of Al Ayn, some brick houses can still be seen and are restored.

And our final stop at Diana's Point
The spot where the tent was set up to welcome Princess Diana back in 1990 to be shown the terrace farming.
Sceneries from Diana's Point. Beautiful and stunning!!
Sunset, got home at 7.30pm
